In the Society for Creative Anachronism, I am known as Ælfflæd Ælfgaresdohtor. She lives in the late 6th Century in the Kingdom of Kent in England. My earlier personas were Katerina atte Hall, an Englishwoman living in the 12th century, and Caterina Giulia di Raffaello Strozzi, a noblewoman living in Venice in the late 15th century.
I am interested in researching Anglo-Saxon culture, weaving, costume, metalwork, beads, cooking, and brewing. One of my ambitions is to become competent in the skills of an Anglo-Saxon housewife. I am working to make the research I have done available on my website. I am happiest when I am poring over a newly discovered dig report of an early Anglo-Saxon site.
I am a member of the Order of the Laurel, the Order of the Jambe de Lion for arts and sciences and of the Order of the Carp for persona development. I received a Forget-Me-Not for serving as a Lady in Waiting for Queen Siobhan. I served Queen Groa in her second reign. I also received membership in the Order of the Baronial Brownie for service to the Barony of Adiantum.
In “The Real World” I am Beth Peters. I am an IT Engineer for a large HMO. I also have an interest in role-playing games, spinning and knitting.
