In the Society for Creative Anachronism, I am known as Ælfflæd Ælfgaresdohtor.  She lives in the late 6th Century in the Kingdom of Kent in England. Take a look at my persona notes to learn more about what her life was like.  My earlier personas were Katerina atte Hall, an Englishwoman living in the 12th century, and Caterina Giulia di Raffaello Strozzi, a noblewoman living in Venice in the late 15th century.

I got started in the SCA in fall of 1988 in the Barony of Adiantum (Eugene, Oregon) in the Principality of the Summits in the Kingdom of An Tir.  I currently live in the Barony of Three Mountains (Portland, Oregon), which is also in An Tir.

I am a member of the Order of the Laurel, the Order of the Jambe de Lion for arts and sciences and of the Order of the Carp for persona development.  I received a Forget-Me-Not for serving as a Lady in Waiting for Queen Siobhan.  I served Queen Groa in her second reign. I also received membership in the Order of the Baronial Brownie for service to the Barony of Adiantum.

Dame Mira Silverlock, a member of the household of Ulfredsheim, recently released me from her service as her apprentice.  My husband, Lord Miklos filos Ambrosios, is a squire to Viscount Ambrose Mavrorothakis.  The three of us are members of the household of Caer Lutris.  Lord Christopher William of Oxfordshire, a member of the Hospitallers, is my lord's Man at Arms and his wife Cynwise of Warram is my Lady in Waiting.  There are pictures of some of us in my gallery.

In addition to the SCA, I am involved in Regia Anglorum, a group based in England that reenacts the late Anglo-Saxon period.  Another group of re-enactors I'd love to join up with if enough interest developed in the US is Angelcynn, which focuses on the early Anglo-Saxon period. I have taken on-line classes in Early and Middle Saxon Dress from Ben Levick, a member of Angelcynn, through the Costume Classroom

In "The Real World" I am Beth Peters.  I am a software developer on a project for E-procurement using Ariba.  I am learning Java, XML, and Perl.  I also administrate ClearCase, our version control tool.  I also have an interest in role-playing games.  Here's a JavaScript Character Generator I wrote for Cyber Punk.
